Tomorrow I start my first Nuffield journey leg: Canada, Scotland, Ireland, England, France, the Netherlands and Spain.
Over the next 7 weeks I have the privilege of meeting with farmers in 5 different countries to understand what risks they are taking when transitioning to regenerative practices and how they mitigate those risks. I will also meet with different supply chain actors (lenders, insurers, non-profits) to understand what role they play in this transition.
Most importantly, I am committing to a journey where I want to broaden my horizons, listen, learn, share, get my ideas and biases challenged and connect with the people doing this work.
I am grateful to Nuffield Canada and to my main partners and sponsors: Régénération Canada, CRABE (Centre de recherche appliquée sur la biodiversité et les écosystèmes), Farmers for Climate Solutions, Canadian Alliance for Net Zero Agri-Food (CANZA) and Manitoba Forage & Grassland Association.
